Since moving to our new home a year and a half, we have had the pleasure of watching God's beautiful wildlife. We have had our fair share of snakes (not well liked), squirrels (grey, brown and white), cardinals, woodpeckers, blue jays, deer (both young and old), pigeons, beavers and today we had the pleasure of seeing wild turkey.
Not just one turkey, but five of them searching for food in our backyard. It was exciting to see our lastests "backyard guests." I had to share a couple of pictures of our many blessings from God.
What beauty He creates!

Imagine...
As I sit here looking at our Christmas tree complete with ornaments, beautifully wrapped Christmas and listening to my favorite Christmas song, Mary Did You Know, listening to my children joyfully playing with their cousins, I am reminded of the first Christmas gift...Jesus!
Can you imagine being there when the angel told Mary she was going to have a baby and she was not married yet? Can you imagine the first time Mary felt Jesus move inside her? Can you imagine Mary and Joseph's love for this little baby? Can you imagine that one day this little boy would one day save us?
Take a moment from this hetic time of year, sit down in front of your Christmas tree and imagine all the wonder that is season brings. Merry Christmas!

Humor...the Best Medicine
Sometimes my kids can say the cutest things.
As I was getting Grant dressed for school this morning. He tells me he wants to be a girl. I was surprised by his comment, so I asked him why he wanted to be a girl. He stood there a moment and with his determine voice, he replied "the girls get to wear pj to school and the boys can't." "That is just not far", he continued. Well, he is true. It is the "in-style" when it gets cold outside for the girls at school to wear bright, wild color pj bottoms under their navy/kawki uniform skirts. It was so hard not to laugh, because to him this was a big deal. However to me, it was medicine I needed...a good laugh (inside).

Who is 42?
Yes, it is true! I turned 42 on Sunday. You know I don't feel that old. I still remember my high school days like it was yesterday. My college years seem so fresh in mind. I can still picture Darren and I on our wedding day. The birth of our kids are so clear and vivid...it is hard to believe that I am 42. When I was a teenager, 42 was considered old. It is amazing as the years go by the age of "old" continues to grow. Now my idea of "old" is 100!
These 42 years have been amazing...filled with love, laughter, joy, family and friends. I can only imagine what the next 42 years will bring!

Let the games begin!
Yesterday, we spent all afternoon at Shelby's basketball games. A year can make a big difference in the girls ability to run plays and truly understand zone coverage. It was exciting to see the girls at this level. The girls on our team have been class mates since Kindergarten. It is amazing to watch them, as I have watched them grow up before my eyes. They are truly remarkable girls!
Congratulations Saints for playing like champions and for winning two out of the three games!
**Note to me...remember the camera next time.**
