Field Trip Mania

This past week, I attended field trips with Shelby and Grant. Shelby's field trip was to the Renaissance Festival, which ended up rainy and cold. Grant's was to a Diary Farm, which also was cold and damp. However the weather didn't ruin the fun!

Shelby was able to help in a magician show and watch a live josting. Grant was able to pet a 4 day old calf and milk a real cow. It is such a delight to see your kids having fun. Thank you Shelby and Grant for wanting me to be with you!

Where has all the time gone!

It has been a little over a month since I posted last. Where has the time gone? Well, at the end of September we went on a magical Disney vacation with family...16 to be exact! Dreams do come true and many magical memories were made that will last a life time.

Upon returning, my life went in "upper sonic speed". I had to help kids catch up on homework and I had to catch up on my own paper work, plus return back to my part time job at school. So there you have it...sometimes life is to hetic; however I am back in "somewhat" control and look forward to sharing my thoughts once again!

Crisp, Cool Fall

The signs of fall are all around us...the turning and falling of leaves, the shorter days, the cooler nights and morning, pumpkins appearing on front porches. My favorite season is here. This weekend marked the yearly "preparing for fall". We took in the deck furniture, turned on the furnace and put on our flannel sheets and blankets.

Happy Birthday and Welcome Back Home

Today we went to celebrate our neice's, Heavyn, 3rd birthday. All the Disney Princesses were there to celebrate (as well as family). She looked so adorable in her red and white frilly dress complete with a Tinker Bell necklace and tiara. These are the moments to remember, for not long she will be out the door having her own family. XOXO!

Also, our nephew Andrew has finally come back home after a long stay at Children's Mercy Hospital. He is better; however not "out of the woods". Only time will tell if the infection will stunt the growth of his arm. God does work miracles and Andrew is our! Welcome back home little man! We love you!

Rekindling Friendships

Today, I had friends from Faultless Starch/Bon Ami Company (were I worked for 10 years before becoming a full-time mom) over for lunch and to see our new home. These ladies have been my friends while at Faultless and over the past 7 1/2 years that I have been a full-time mom.


We shared a light lunch, laughter, stories about the past and about the future. God has blessed me with many amazing friends (not pictured is my dear twin sister who means the world to me).

Prayers Needed For Andrew

Our newest nephew, Andrew, was admitted to Children's Mercy Hospital, with an infection that is causing his shoulder bone to deteriorate. The doctors don't know much yet, as they are still trying to determine what type of infection and what is causing his bone to deteriorate. As I write this, Andrew is in surgery.

Dear Lord be with the surgeons and nurses as they care for Andrew. Give strength to Melissa and David as they wait for the results. Wrap your loving arms around our little Andrew to give him comfort and love that only you can give.

Not One but Two Student Council Girls

A few weeks ago, Shelby made the decision to run for Student Council Vice President (which was not surprising as she has been on STUCO for a couple years...she is our more outgoing, social girl). The day after Shelby said she wanted to run, Shannon decided that she want to run for her class representitive. I was a little apprehensive, since Shannon has been our shy, reserved girl. Shannon and I worked on her speech and she practiced each night. I was so excited that she was gaining more confidence, but worried that if she did not get elected she would be "crushed".

Today was elections at school for Student Council. Shelby won Vice President and Shannon (our shy girl) won her 3rd grade Class Representitive. Way to go girls! I am so proud of you!
