New Look

What a surprise I received today. My dear sister, Sheila, has been playing with digital photography. I have enjoyed looking at her wonderful master pieces. Well, much to my surprise she "updated" my blog site. What a "fresh" look! I love it...and love you sis!

Thank you so much for all you do!

Valentine Togetherness

Valentine's Day started out with pink heart shaped pancakes and fresh berries. After breakfast we spent time together.
Darren and Grant made us heart shaped grilled ham and cheese sandwiches with apple slices. What a surprise, since mom didn't have to prepare it! Yeah, me! After lunch we had the kids home their gifts. Each of them received a webkinz and as a family we received the Disney Channel Scene It. We had fun playing the game, even though Shelby has the most knowledge and can win...and win...and win. She was diffently the person to have on your team. After playing together as a family, we all took a Saturday afternoon nap. What luxury, since those are few and far between.
Saturday night, we celebrated in style with our tradition speghetti pie (Gram's receipe), a fresh tossed salad and a delicious chocolate cherry dessert complete with sparkling juice for the kids and wine for us adults. What a great time shared together as family! Life is good!

All is quiet...now!

The house is finally quiet and I am breathing a sigh of relief. We have been on a "world wind tour" of visiting my Grandmother in the hospital and two play dates...yes not one but two. One was with my dear friend Stephanie and her 4 kids and then I agreed to watch my sister's 3 kid's (one being an infant). Believe you me I would have won America's Funniest Home Videos with the "material" that went on today...from Andrew burping up his milk and it ended up landing on our new puppy to Andrew spitting out his binky and our puppy chewing on it and finally to a tired puppy needing a little bit of mommy time. I never realized that even dogs get jealous. I am one exhausted mommy.

So the next time I am asked to have 2 playdates in one day, please someone stop me. Well, sweet dreams and good night!

Lovely Memories

A couple of weeks ago, my sister Sheila and I went "bumming" around at our local antique store. We had so much fun spending time together. We enjoy looking and trying to visualize together what we could do with antiques. It was such a relaxing afternoon spent with my best friend and sister. I found some lovely things to add to my home...an antique mirror, Ball jar, antique laces, photo mats, galvinized pitcher and shelf. Everytime I see these items I will remember the day that we had "bumming" around. Thank you for the lovely memories!
Also pictured is a beautiful piece of mixed media art my sister made about the love my MaMa and PaPa had for each other. Unfortunately my grandfather died when I was only 15; however their love still continues.

I feel like running away!

It is day 5 of our flu bug (but who is counting?...me!). We had a hectic weekend of running kids to various activities; however the brakes have been put on and now our busy weekend will be a "recovery" weekend with a lot of rest and relaxation. Instead of running, maybe a good night sleep is what is needed. One that doesn't include mom "I am sick" can you help clean up. Ugh! So if you don't here from me within the next week or so...know I ran away. Ha!

Flu Bug...Ugh!

Yes, it all caught us by surprise. However all but one of us remains untouched. These past few days has been trying for all...me included. When we have our health, we don't seem to think twice about it; however after these past few days I am hoping we are healthy soon.

So today, I hope this finds you healthy!

Come here...Riley!

Our family decided that we needed to add to the size. We needed one more family member to love. It was so exciting to be able to adopt our first dog. She is the most adorable Maltese/Doxi mix. She is so tiny and lovable. Yes, we fell in love with her at first sight and now she is ours to love and hold (and to clean up after). It would have probably been easier to adopt another child. However not as much fun for the kids.

It is almost bed time, so hopefully we will get sleep. I'll keep you posted on our new "baby".
