Mom's Work is Never Done

Today, I can take a deep breath and relax (alittle). These past couple weeks have been hectic with getting Shelby to play practice, buying dresses and shoes for first communion, getting invitations out to Shannon's first communion and Grant's 5th birthday, planning a family birthday party with Grams and PaPa, planning a trip to Libby Lu for 20 Brownie Scouts, ordering badges for Brownies, and the list went on.

I know that later this week I will be at it again, as I have to get ready for Shannon's Brownie Awards Ceremony, Grant's Birthday, Shelby's play, Gran'ts Kindergarten Shadow day, our Anniversary and Shannon's first communion celebration.

But today I will enjoy my day of relaxation!

Going to Town Days

What an exciting day! Grant and I spent the day at school with Shannon at Going To Town Days. Each student is asked to come up with a product to sell and then the students of the school are given "play money" to spend. Shannon and her friend created "stir it up" spoons that are covered with chocolate and m&m's. Put the "stir it up" spoons in a cup of hot chocolate or coffee for a delicious treat!

Congratulations my baby girl on your business!

Spring Is Finally Here!

Today, my tulips finally bloomed! They are gorgeous! The couple blooms I have left that is, since an animals has decided to eat of the blooms of the others. I so enjoy our new house and the our woods in the back; however I don't enjoy the wild life feasting on my flowers and newly grown grass (that I spent hours on last fall to plant and water).

Thank you God for all the beauty around us!

Creeking!

Well, the rain held off and Grant's pre-k class was able to go creeking. We had fun wading in the stream to find all kinds of creepy and crawlies. The amazing thing is that in his class they have 14 boys and 4 girls. Yes, it is true! So as you can imagine it was a boy outting.

We had a wonderful showing of parent volunteers, which happened to be all mom's. Usually there is a couple of dad's, but not today. So the mom's "stepped up to the plate" and rolled up their pants legs and headed in to the cold waters to find all kinds of wild life in the stream, under rock no less. Yes, I was one of the many mom's, that braved the cold waters and would reach in to turn over rocks to find these wonderful creatures. It is amazing what us "mom's" will do for our kids.

Royals Game Brrr!

We went to watch the Royals win yesterday against the Minnesota Twins. Our plans were to tail gate before the game (like we did last year). However with snow flurries in the air at 8 am, we decided to go to Mom & Dad's to "tail gate" in warmth.

We got to the stadium and it was 39 degrees. Brr! We were bundled up and yes we had hot chocolate to keep us warm. All-in-all we had a fantastic time!

Where is the warm weather?

Way to go KU!

KU is heading to the finals!

We watched the KU game last night with family. If there is a reason to celebrate our family can find it. Mom and Dad, Sheila, Ken, Janna and Connor, Chuck, Shawna, Rebecca and Carson all came over for a bar-b-que and to watch KU play UNC. What a game and what a wonderful night spent with family!

I want you, but I don't

It is true! Shelby wants me, but only at a distance.

Today, I went on the 6th grade field trip to Science City. As soon as I arrived at school, I was told that the parents were riding in the front of the bus together. In other words, she was not going to sit by me. I am truly blessed that she still wants me as many of the kids don't even want their parents around. At least she wants us in "her terms".

Thanks for letting me go, Shelby. I love you!
