Thankful Heart

On this Thanksgiving Eve, I have been reflecting on the many blessings that God has given me. With God all things are possible and with Him, I have many things to be thankful for. Here are just a few:

My loving husband of 16 years
My three beautiful and healthy children
My extended family - sisters, brother-in-laws, neices and nephews, mothers, dads and grandmothers
My friends
My health and the health of my family and friends
My country...for the men and women that protect our country so that we can live in the land of the free!
For love, laughter and life!

God has blessed my life abundantly! May I always have a thankful heart!

Finished Product

For over a year, I have lived in a "bland" house of egg shell white in most of the rooms However, I decided to get out the paint brushes and add some warm colors to my house.

My kitchen is done in wild honey and my living room is done in cookie crumb. I am so pleased with the results. See what you think.

Happy 80th Birthday, Mickey!

Yes, it is true! Mickey Mouse turned 80 years old. He looks so young...how can it be?

I am a true Mickey fan. He brings so many wonderful memories for our family: from the days of the Mickey Mouse club, to the Disney Channel shows so long ago, to the wonderful Disney vacations we have taken our kids on, to our Mickey welcome rock and statue in our front garden.

So here's to you Mickey on your very special day. May it be a special as you are to our family!

What I've been up too!

This past week, I have been feverishly painting the inside of my house. Between the kids school auction, working part time, attending a music performance and church, I am done with my living room and almost done with my kitchen. I love the new colors: cookie crumb for the living room and wild honey for the kitchen. Don't those colors sound yummy! As soon as I am done, I will post pictures.

However, tonight I am attending a Silver Bella pre-party with my sister Sheila. I am taking the night off and enjoying some time with creative people. I can't wait! Thank you for thinking of me. I only wish I could be a little mouse to stow away in Sheila's luggage!

Election Day 2008

I left the house at 6 am to go about a mile from my home to vote. After spending 25 minutes in the car, I arrived at the polling area. I waited in a line that wrapped around half of the big building. After waiting for 45 minutes, I finally had my ballot in hand. I cast my ballot and then proceeded to find my car in the packed parking lot and head home. I made it home by 7:20 am, just in time to take the kids to school.

Seeing people voting gave me such a sense of patriotism. We are so lucky to live in this country where we have elections! May God Bless the candidates that win this election!
