Prayers Needed

On Monday morning, we found out that Andrew had fluid on his lungs and needed to be in NICU, which meant my sister was not able to hold and feed her baby. However the doctors felt it would only take a day; however we found out on Tuesday that Andrew is forgetting to breath while feeding. So Andrew will be in NICU for the rest of the week.

This past week my brother-in-law, Davon, was admitted into the hospital for a seizure. After four days of tests he is finally out; however he is needing prayers to help him with the long road of recovery.

God answers prayers and I know that He will lovingly take care of my family that is needing his strength, support and care.

Welcome Little One

We welcomed our newest addition to the family on Sunday night around 11 pm. Andrew David was welcomed into this world by my youngest sister and her new husband. He weighed 7 pounds 9 ounces and had more hair on his head than his Daddy (Tee Hee).

All were present to meet him...Dustin (big brother), Lexi (big sister), Grams, PaPa, GiGi, MaMa, Uncle Chris and Aunt Lynn, Aunt Vicki, Aunt Sheila, Janna, David's mom (aka. new grandmother), David's Aunt, my daughter's Shelby and Shannon and myself. It brought tears to my eyes when I saw him and watched the nurse's bath him and check him over. These are moments when you know God is Good, oh so very GOOD!

Congratulations and welcome little one to the family!

Rest and Relaxation

Our Wild Wedded Women's Weekend was fabulous! It was filled with hours of crafting, giggling until our sides hurt, eating until we couldn't eat any more, exploring an antique mall, soaking up the sun and enjoying our "sisterly" bond.

It seems like we just got started and then it is time to get back to our "real" life. Thank you WWW for a wonderful time!

Wild Wedded Women's Weekend

In just a few short hours, I will be saying good-bye to my family for our yearly women's weekend. This is a time for crafting, laughing, crafting, staying up until wee hours of the night, crafting, eating, crafting, giggling, crafting. Do you get the hint? I am so excited about the opportunity to be crafting.

I'll keep you posted on the projects I worked on.

Treasured Moments for One Tired Mom

Over the past week, we have had 2 slumber parties, dinner with friends, a Royals game, sitting up for Vacation Bible School, swimming, horseback riding, mowing the lawn, the daily up keep of the house, exercise and keeping the kids from fighting. It is mid-summer and I am looking forward to a break from the hectic pace; however I don't have one in site until the end of the week. Thank heavens!

Today, I was able to sit and watch the kids play with their cousins in the pool. Shannon jumped off the diving board and swam to the side all by herself. Shelby mastered her surface dive and perfecting her strokes. Grant is jumping of the side of the pool without a life jacket, diving for rocks on the steps and jumping off the board with his life jacket. Just a few short weeks they were all saying "I can't"; however they can now. Yes, life as a full time mom can be very draining and sometimes you don't feel appreciated. However moments like these I will treasure!

No Air Conditioning?

You heard it right. Since we were experience mid temperatures in the low 80's, I didn't discover until after 5 pm on Thursday, July 3rd, that our air condition was not cooling

On Friday, we were given the bad news. Our air compressor was shot and we needed a new unit. $$$$ signs went through my mind.

Due to the holiday weekend, we had to wait until Monday for the next repair man to give us a quote on a new air conditioning unit. By Monday, the temperatures were rising and our house was a warm 88 degrees. So we headed to Grammy's until we met with the final service man on Wednesday.

On Wednesday afternoon, our prayers were answered. Our air compressor was fine; we only needed a new started. We are enjoying our "cooler" air!

Creativity!

I have been keeping up with my goal this month. These layouts aren't master pieces; however I have pictures on pages and I actually journaled on them. I am so proud of myself as I have been in a creative "dry spell" for months. I feels so good to create!

Disney World Here We Come!

Yes, it is official! Yesterday I received the tickets for the Not So Scary Mickey Mouse Halloween Party. I don't know who is more excited my kids or me. I can't wait to experience the excitement the Disney Park has to offer, since my neice and 2 nephews have not gone yet. Something about Disney just brings back the kid in me. You can say I am a Disney Fanatic!

July 4th ...Freedom, Family, Fireworks and Fun

The fourth of July is a special time to honor our independence! It is a time to remember that our freedom is not free! Many men and women have sacrificed to allow us the land we call home...America! Thanks to all our military men and women! And a special thanks to "our" men that served: Grandpa Carson, Uncle Tyrone (died in Vietnam), Dad, Grandaddy Great, Uncle Butch, Uncle Ken and my dear husband.

This weekend we celebrated with America by getting together as family to enjoy the freedoms our military have given us.

Challenging Myself

In the month of July, I am challeninging myself to complete a two page layout every other day. So by the end of July, I should have 15 layouts complete. For the people that know me well, this is quite a challenge. So here is my first layout...yes it is not fancy; however I have pictures on a page.

So maybe you will take the challenge as well...to catch up on all those pictures in boxes!

A few minutes to myself

Last night after taking a walk with the kids, I told my DH that I was headed to our deck to have a little R & R. I took my book and a cool drink out to enjoy the scenary from our deck. For those that don't know, our backyard is full of trees and back ups to the woods. It was a cool brisk evening. I enjoyed reading and listening to mother nature wind down for the night.

After enjoying about 30 minutes of R & R, our middle child (Shannon) found me. With a house full of kids my minutes are few; however those precious moments of time to myself were wonderful!
