Where did the warm weather go?

Well, we are back in the deep freeze with the weather. Monday, we enjoyed mid temperatures of 60 degree. Even on Tuesday morning when I went out it was 54 degrees; however only a few hours later it was 16 degrees. The wind was blowing a snow storm in.

They say we have global warm. I am not seeing this as this winter as been one of the coldest and snowest for a number of years. It just goes to show you God is control.

Next week is Ground Hogs Day. Will he see is shadow or not? I can only hope he does not see his shadow, so we can finally get out of the deep freeze. However I bet we will have that 6 weeks of winter.

Celebrate Life

This weekend was especially emotional for me. On Sunday, I went to a visitation of a family friend. Kelsey was only 18 years old, a senior in high school and so full of life. She lovingly helped my girls with swimming lessons each summer. Last Wednesday night in the snow storm, Kelsey lost control of our car, hit a truck and God decided to take her home. When I hugged her mom, her words to me was to tell your kids every day you love them and hug them tight. Her words touched my heart. No matter what my kids will experience a big hug and "I love you" daily.

On Monday, Sheila and I met our friend Leneve for dinner. Leneve has been fighting cancer off and on for years. It has come back and she is fight for her life again. We had such a wonderful time catching up and laughing about the good times. Leneve you are a true inspiration to me. You have such a strong faith and continue to celebrate life even when you are hurting so.

We don't know when God will call us home. After reflecting on these last couple of days, I realize now more than ever to tell your family and friends you love them daily, to trust in God and to celebrate the life you are given.

What Do You Mean We Have School!

Overnight, God blessed us with a blanket of snow! As you know I enjoy snow, if I don't have to get out in it!

At 5:30 am, I sit in front of my computer watching as each of the school districts around us slowly decided to cancel school. By 6:15 am, I am still amazed that all the schools have closed and ours is still on the list. At 6:30 am, the kids need to get up, as Shelby has safety patrol. Their response to having to get up was...what do you mean we have school?!

You have to love our school district. No matter the weather, you can almost bet we WILL have school.

Kids Back at School

The kids are heading back to school. I am having missed emotions. I so enjoy having them at home with no need to get to bed on time, no need to rush from one activity to the next and no need to work on home work. However, I am craving a little peace and quiet, especially from the constant squabbling of the kids.

Here's to the kids going back!

My new toy!

Well, it is official! I received my new Canon camera. I am so excited that I can finally take action shoots. I am still in the "infant" stage of learning my new toy; however I know I can always count on my sisters and mother to help as they also have Canon cameras. As soon as I get it figured out I will post my new pictures (however don't hold your breath as it will take me a while to read it).

Ringing in the New Year

It is hard to believe that yet another year has flown by and I am making my New Year's Resolution. In years past I had my goals on paper; however this year has come and gone and I have failed to write them down. I have thought of them and it continues to be a broken record with eating and exercising top on the list. So this year, I start a new. My New Years Resolution is to put my faith, family and friends on top of the list. Yes I want to shed a few Christmas pounds and tone up; however life is about the people around you and I am blessed to have a wonderful family, fantastic friends and a faith family that helps me to become what God has intented.
Happy New Year! I will keep you up to date on my progress.
