Mom's Special Touches

Our precious little girl turns 9!
Our littlest girl, which I told her that I would not allow her to grow up, is 9 years old! She was my little cabbage patch kid with rolly polly legs and arms, chubby cheeks, curly black hair and snow white skin. Where has my little girl gone? Now, there is no more chubby cheeks, rolly polly legs and arms or curly black hair. She has turned into a beautifully stunning tween (as they call preteens now). Boy the time has gone to fast! When will it slow down!
Happy Birthday, my precious!

Teenager in the House
It is true, we have a teenager in our house. I never imaged that this date would ever come. Our little 7 lb 2.8 oz princess that came home, is now our beautiful teenage daughter. Where does the time go?
Shelby you have grown into a caring and loving young lady. Yes, there are times when I remember the good old days when you loved to hide in your stuffed animals or when you "sang in the rain" with your Pooh umbrella and jacket or when your little "cheeks" hung out of your swimsuit or when you loved to watch Barney every waking moment. Now your life is all about I-Pods, e-mails, Nick Jonas and trying to get out of doing your chores.
On your 13th Birthday, just remember that we love you even in these "trying" teenage years!

New Look
What a surprise I received today. My dear sister, Sheila, has been playing with digital photography. I have enjoyed looking at her wonderful master pieces. Well, much to my surprise she "updated" my blog site. What a "fresh" look! I love it...and love you sis!
Thank you so much for all you do!

Valentine Togetherness
Valentine's Day started out with pink heart shaped pancakes and fresh berries. After breakfast we spent time together.
Darren and Grant made us heart shaped grilled ham and cheese sandwiches with apple slices. What a surprise, since mom didn't have to prepare it! Yeah, me! After lunch we had the kids home their gifts. Each of them received a webkinz and as a family we received the Disney Channel Scene It. We had fun playing the game, even though Shelby has the most knowledge and can win...and win...and win. She was diffently the person to have on your team. After playing together as a family, we all took a Saturday afternoon nap. What luxury, since those are few and far between.
Saturday night, we celebrated in style with our tradition speghetti pie (Gram's receipe), a fresh tossed salad and a delicious chocolate cherry dessert complete with sparkling juice for the kids and wine for us adults. What a great time shared together as family! Life is good!

All is quiet...now!
The house is finally quiet and I am breathing a sigh of relief. We have been on a "world wind tour" of visiting my Grandmother in the hospital and two play dates...yes not one but two. One was with my dear friend Stephanie and her 4 kids and then I agreed to watch my sister's 3 kid's (one being an infant). Believe you me I would have won America's Funniest Home Videos with the "material" that went on today...from Andrew burping up his milk and it ended up landing on our new puppy to Andrew spitting out his binky and our puppy chewing on it and finally to a tired puppy needing a little bit of mommy time. I never realized that even dogs get jealous. I am one exhausted mommy.
So the next time I am asked to have 2 playdates in one day, please someone stop me. Well, sweet dreams and good night!

Lovely Memories
A couple of weeks ago, my sister Sheila and I went "bumming" around at our local antique store. We had so much fun spending time together. We enjoy looking and trying to visualize together what we could do with antiques. It was such a relaxing afternoon spent with my best friend and sister. I found some lovely things to add to my home...an antique mirror, Ball jar, antique laces, photo mats, galvinized pitcher and shelf. Everytime I see these items I will remember the day that we had "bumming" around. Thank you for the lovely memories!
Also pictured is a beautiful piece of mixed media art my sister made about the love my MaMa and PaPa had for each other. Unfortunately my grandfather died when I was only 15; however their love still continues.
